The 2025 winners are:

Customer Experience Champion: Maria Brett, Westgrove Group

Maria, Security Team Leader of the Swan Centre, has demonstrated exceptional professionalism, leadership, and compassion in her role. Through numerous incidents, Maria has shown swift actions with a remarkable level of care and empathy. She goes above and beyond, from assisting customers in distress to handling multiple serious medical emergencies and helping prevent high-level thefts.

Runner Up: Thomas Deeley, SecuriGroup

Outstanding Act: Abdullah Tanoli, Duval Eye FM

On August 12 2024, Abdullah performed an act of bravery. A male wielding a knife on Leicester Square targeted a female and her daughter. Without assistance, Abdullah quickly assessed the situation and used de-escalation techniques to disarm the individual, placing himself between the attacker and the victims and risking his life for the safety of others. His courageous actions paid off, and the suspect was charged with attempted murder.

Runner Up: Dilnawaz Ali, Bidvest Noonan â€‹

Best Team: Meadowhall Interchange Team, Bidvest Noonan

The Meadowhall Interchange Team take care of one of South Yorkshire’s biggest transport hubs - managing complex challenges including terrorism threats, crime, and vulnerable individuals. Despite facing emotionally taxing incidents, the team demonstrate resilience, professionalism, and compassion, ensuring the safety of thousands of commuters and visitors daily and protecting the Meadowhall community. 

Runner Up: Touchwood Solihull, Westgrove Group

Security Manager of the Year: Nitu Kashap, FGH Security

Nitu has demonstrated outstanding and authentic leadership by building strong rapport with frontline officers and driving a positive cultural shift within her team; prioritising communication, training, conflict management and innovative tools. Nitu continues to strengthen security operations with her team reviews, active community engagement, and operational effectiveness - committed to professional development. ​​​​

Runner Up: Joanne Bloomfield, Zinc Systems


Best Newcomer: Mo Sonko, Mitie

Mo entered the security industry as a Supervisor at HMRC East Kilbride, and has displayed outstanding leadership, professionalism, and a relentless commitment to industry standards in a short space of time. From professional discipline, guarding standards, and operational procedures, Mo’s dedication and integrity has already led to tangible improvements in safety and efficiency at HMRC.

Runner Up: Alexandra Baxter, Zinc Systems​​

Apprentice of the Year: Yahya Nisar Dar, OCS Group

Yahya has successfully completed his Level 3 Security First Line Manager Apprenticeship - gaining a distinction. This achievement reflects his strong understanding of the responsibilities involved in frontline security management - including risk assessment, team supervision, and incident response. His ability to consistently perform at a high standard is a true testament to his future within the security industry.

Runner Up: Matthew Bailey, Openview Security Systems

Management Excellence: Henna Noordin, Wilson James

Henna is a dynamic and visionary leader, rising from Security Officer to Site Security Manager in a short eight months, due to her exceptional professionalism, operational expertise, and dedication to customer service. She has been recognised for transforming team morale and performance, actively contributing to community safety and representing Wilson James at key events. She is a force for positive change.

Runner Up: Tom Marsh, FGH Security

 

Excellence in Leadership: Graeme Dyson, EMCOR UK
Graeme is a well-respected security leader with a distinguished background in law enforcement and counter-terrorism. With nearly a decade of experience and a history of commendations, he brings strategic insight, hands-on leadership, and a deep commitment to public protection. His leadership is marked by high standards, collaboration, and a focus for community safety - earning him recognition across the country.

Runner Up: Polly Cameron, National Gas

Corporate Social Responsibility: Corps Security

Corps Security’s ESG strategy is guided by its People, Planet, Purpose values; driven by a commitment to better business. Corps champion fair pay with 99% of staff on Real Living Wage, promoting ED&I, and supporting staff through initiatives like their Welfare Fund and ethical procurement. They give employee’s paid time for charity work, and provide tailored employment and mentoring opportunities for young people.

Runner Up: MAN Commercial Protection

EDI Champion: Jenni Jetzer, Lodge Service 

Jenni has a clear mission to address systemic issues around frontline officer treatment and lack of diversity. Since joining Lodge, she has led transformative EDI initiatives, increasing female officer recruitment, embedding inclusivity and leadership levels, and setting a standard for the security industry. Through her targeted campaigns, she has become a powerful voice for industry change. 

Runner Up: Corps Security​

Environmental Project: SecuriGroup

SecuriGroup have achieved Carbon Net-Zero through a comprehensive sustainability strategy; one of the first 100 companies to sign The Climate Pledge. Through precise emissions tracking, digital transformation, energy efficiency, and a transition to electric vehicles, the company have significantly reduced their carbon impact. SecuriGroup also created the SecuriGroup Forest, supporting biodiversity and carbon sequestration.

Large Business of the Year: Mitie

Mitie continues to solidify its position as an industry leader by launching the Enabling Safer Communities initiative, addressing rising crime and societal safety challenges. Key achievements for the previous year include a partnership with WalkSafe, supporting faith communities, and government protection services. Mitie have achieved strong ESG milestones, employee engagement and improved diversity.

Best Use of Technology: Commend UK

IVY is a next-generation AI voice assistant, revolutionising communication in high-pressure environments by providing 24/7 support, real-time language translation, and call management. IVY reduces pressure on control rooms by handling routine inquires and prioritising urgent calls with audio analysis and voice recognition; representing the future of human-centred technology and ensuring calls for help are always answered.

Runner Up: Galliford Try Asset Intelligence

 

Innovative Security Project: HID Global

HID have modernised the University of Dundee campus security by implementing Mobile Access and Signo readers, enabling staff and students to access buildings using RFID cards or smartphones for touch-free entry. This project enhances safety, complies with Martyn’s Law, and improves operational efficiency by streamlining credential issuance through cloud-based tech; reducing costs, plastic use and administration.

Runner Up: Lodge Service

Installer of the Year: Galliford Try Asset Intelligence

The Security Delivery Team at Galliford Try leads the UK’s largest integrated security upgrade; securing over 400 live, operational clean water sites to 24 million people. The team have delivered cutting-edge alarm systems, CCTV, fencing, and lifecycle-safe designs, all with full regulatory compliance. This has set a new industry benchmark, highlighting Galliford Try’s project management as a national leader.

Runner Up: OSL Technology

National Partnership: Securitas

Securitas’ two-decade partnership with South West Water exemplifies the power of long-term collaboration in protecting critical infrastructure and personnel. With a rollout of 1,500 advanced lone-worker detection devices, Securitas and South West Water have committed to employee safety and setting a benchmark for security best practices across the UK utilities sector.

Runner Up: Mitie

SME of the Year: Arc Monitoring

Arc Monitoring prioritises the human element of operations, whilst embracing innovation. They ensure every alarm, query, or incident is handled by a trained professional, but have built a custom CCTV reporting platform that blends technology with real-time insight. They continue to evolve their systems, offering streamlined operations with a “real people, real response” philosophy.

Runner Up: ZAM FM

Mental Wellbeing Initiative: Consortium for the Prevention of Suicide

Founded by Vicki Vidler after the tragic loss of her brother, the Consortium works with over 50 organisations including key security industry players to drive proactive, compassionate change. Their focus on the wellbeing of people is key in an industry where workers face regular risk, driving meaningful cultural shifts around mental health and reshaping how mental health is addressed in pressurised industries.

Runner Up: SecuriGroup X Able Futures​

Contribution to the Industry: Darren Conway, Lodge Service

As a highly respected industry figure, Darren is known for his extensive experience in loss prevention and his leadership in fostering collaborative, innovative approaches to tackling retail crime. He has strengthened partnerships between businesses and law enforcement, enabling intelligence sharing and cost-effective, strategic security solutions. His commitment to community safety is influential in UK crime prevention.

Chairman's Award: Dame Julie Kenny

​Dame Julie founded Pyronix over 40 years ago, and remained a driving force within the business until 2016. She is a pioneer for women in the industry, both in her role at Pyronix and also the Chair of the BSIA and recently as the Chair of RISC. Her legacy will live on in the people that knew her and the impact she had in so many walks of life.
